Here are some holiday desserts to get you in the Christmas spirit! 1. Gingerbread We’re starting off with the classic holiday favorite! It’s so easy to make, and you can build amazing gingerbread people and houses! Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread Recipe 2. Peppermint Bark Next up is one of my personal holiday favorites! All you need is candy canes, white chocolate, dark chocolate, and some peppermint extract. Peppermint Bark Recipe 3.   Winter Crafts! By: Madison Hong 23’ Craft #1: Easy Snowflakes My brother and I always make a whole bunch right after Halloween and it is so fun! Materials: Paper Scissors  Instructions: Fold your piece of paper into fourths. Then take a corner and fold into thirds and flip over and repeat. (Look at video) Then cut a design of your choice. Materials: Magazine  Decorations for your tree Instructions: First you want to take the top corner of the page and bring it to the center of the spine. Next you fold the page in half again so it looks like a tie. After you have a little triangle at the bottom of the page that you want to hide. So you then fold it underneath tucking it in between the two sides of the page. Now repeat with all of the pages of your magazine. Now you can decorate with stickers, spray paint, ...

Additionally, Mercy has gained a handful of new amazing teachers who we are so lucky to have. On this week’s edition of meet the new teachers, we have Ms. Hyman, who teaches English 2 and Mr. Nixon who teaches Religion! We asked them… Ms. Hyman 1. Where did you grow up? “I grew up about 45 minutes north of New York City. I went to college in Maine and then lived in Brooklyn for almost 10 years after graduating, so I'm very much an east coast kid!” 2. Why did you decide to come and teach here at Mercy? “I decided to teach at Mercy because I love the sisterhood that is fostered here, and I very much believe in the mission of supporting and amplifying women's voices in all spaces.
