Self Care
Self care

One of our most frequent responses to the 2021 goal survey was to take better care of yourself. There are a lot of small things you can do to better take care of yourself.
Give yourself a break…
It's easy to get lost in schoolwork, however sometimes you need to take a break. Taking just a few minutes for yourself can help increase your productivity and even calm yourself down. Taking a short break is extremely helpful for your mental and physical health.
Hydrate!
Drinking the correct amount of water has countless health benefits including clearer skin, prevention of headaches, and increased energy.
Get Outside!
Getting outside is a good way to care for yourself. You can go for a walk, run, or practice a sport. If you are going to be outside near other people, please social distance and wear masks.
Keep in contact with friends and family.
Keeping in contact with loved ones is very helpful and can lift your mood and make you feel less alone. Try to have at least one social interaction each day.
Make a playlist
Sometimes you need a mood boost and making a playlist of your favorite songs can accomplish that. If you are feeling extra, you can make a playlist for different moods. (because everyone needs a sad playlist)
Wake up!
Not literally… but sometimes being in your pajamas and lying in bed all day can make you groggy. Try to get dressed and make your bed, and even if you get nothing else done you still accomplished something.
Plan things to look forward to
We are living in a world that seems incredibly bleak, so planning something to look forward to can help keep your spirits up. This doesn’t have to be anything big, it could be watching a new movie or playing a video game.
Try out an old hobby
Did you ever love doing a certain thing when you were younger, then kinda forget about it? Maybe try rediscovering your old interests, and tailor them to your current self.
Treat yourself
Do something nice for yourself, put on a face mask, paint your nails, make some food or do anything that you’ve been wanting to do...You deserve it!
