If you are looking for an updo for formal, consider this Dutch braid style. Simply split your hair into two sections and create two Dutch braids halfway down your head. Gather the two braids and the remainder of your hair into a ponytail. To hide the elastic, take a section of the hair and wrap it around the base of the ponytail. Secure with a bobby pin underneath. Curl your ponytail if you wish! This elegant style is perfect for both naturally curly or straight hair. Use gel or hairspray to slick down the top section of your hair and tuck behind your ear with a bobby pin. Add a fun clip for a pop of color!
If you have shorter hair this is a super easy formal hairstyle! Simply create a small French braid on one side of your hair and tie it off with an elastic. Pin the braid in place and pull your hair over to cover the elastic. Curl or straighten the rest of your hair if you wish!
A half-up bun will work for both curly and straight hair! Leaving pieces out in the front, gather your hair in a half-up ponytail and secure it with an elastic. Twist your hair into a small bun at the crown of your head and secure it with bobby pins.
This style looks complicated, but it is actually very easy! First pull your hair into a half-up ponytail at the back of your head. Tie it loosely with an elastic band. Then create a hole in the ponytail with your fingers and flip the hair through it. Use another elastic to make small “bubbles” along the ponytail and repeat this same motion of creating a hole and flipping the remaining hair. Finally, pull at and fluff each of the twists for more texture!
To create this easy style first pull your hair into a half ponytail. Then using small clear elastics take two sections of the ponytail and tie them underneath the ponytail. Continue this process down the ponytail.
