        Featured Clubs #2 By Samantha Lynch ‘23 In the previous installment of this article series, we covered three of Mercy’s clubs. Mercy has over thirty clubs so we have many more to cover. The clubs featured this week are the In the Criminal Mind’s Club and The Literary Appreciation Club. In The Criminal’s Mind Club         Criminal Minds Club Meeting, Emma Hanson The In the Criminal Mind’s club is a club for students with interests in true crime. Many students at Mercy have this interest as there are around fifty members in the club. The club was founded by Emma Hanson ‘23, and she wanted to “create a club with a fun environment where one of Mercy student’s interests is discussed”.   Quick and Easy Halloween Costumes By Flora Gamba ‘23   With Halloween quickly approaching, many may realize that they do not have a costume. However, there are several costumes that can be created using stuff you have at home. Here are 5 quick and easy last-minute costumes for Halloween this year. Disney Characters Disney Bound, Google Images Serious Disney fans may have gone to the parks “Disney Bounding” as a character. Disney bounding is using a character’s color palette to create an outfit representing them. Though you may not be spending Halloween in the Happiest Place on Earth, you can still be your favorite princess, prince, or villain for Halloween this year. Girls Supporting Girls Club Girls Supporting Girls Club’s first meeting, via @mercyburlingame on Instagram The Girls Supporting Girls Club is a new club this year and is run by Ivana Borgen ‘25, Aaliyah Olague ‘25, Alejandra Romero ‘25, Sophia Engstrom ‘25, Mia Cardenas ‘25. One of the presidents, Ivana Borgen, said that they created this club “to allow the girls at Mercy to join a safe and relatable community.” Their goal is to empower other students at Mercy.   Kairos 20 By Angelica Buncio ‘22   Last week, a group of seniors were given the opportunity to attend Kairos, a special retreat that gives students the chance to take the time to reflect on their relationship with God, themselves, and others. The Greek word, “Kairos,” means a special and chosen time, which is God’s time. Being able to disconnect myself from everything else and just be in a peaceful space where I could focus on my thoughts meant a lot to me. Especially since it is senior year, I know that few of us have gotten the chance to really reflect on what is happening in our lives as everyone has been busy trying to keep their grades up, get college applications done, and still try to find time for themselves.    As we have been dealing with the coronavirus pandemic for almost two years now, it was not certain that we would have even been able to experience a traditional Kairos.
