Sports Report 10/18-10/22

This was an eventful week for sports! Tennis, water polo, golf, and volleyball all had games. 


On Tuesday October 19, there were tennis, water polo, and volleyball games. Tennis had a match against the Nueva School on the 19th. Varsity players Maria Shelley ‘24 and Sabrina Jarman ‘22 were both victorious, taking both of their matches into a third set tiebreaker. The water polo team took on Terra Nova. They battled and ended up losing 3-18. Freshman volleyball won two straight sets against Notre Dame San Jose. JV volleyball pushed Notre Dame San Jose to a third set, and won 2-1 sets. Varsity volleyball took care of Notre Dame San Jose in two straight sets. Tuesday was senior night for volleyball, celebrating their senior players: Janice Wong, Hailey Wilson, Abby O’Brien, Gianna Lumanlan, Teagan Butts, and their managers Lindsey Laubacher and Kalia Cordero. 

On Thursday, cross country, tennis, volleyball, and water polo all played. The cross country team completed the second WBAL race and all finished within a few minutes of each other. Tennis led strong singles against Priory by Maria Shelley ‘24, Sabrina Jarman ‘22, and Natalie Dean ‘22. Doubles consisted of Amarech Mendez ‘24 with Sydney Meinerth ‘23 and Katelyn Vo ‘22 with Emma Hanson ‘23 all winning their matches. Freshman volleyball battled to a third set against Sacred Heart Prep before losing 13-15. JV volleyball lost against Sacred Heart Prep in two straight sets. Varsity volleyball lost to a strong Sacred Heart Prep team in straight sets as well. Water polo went to San Mateo High School and lost 13-14.
